Founded in 2011, The Marshmallowist was the first producer of gourmet marshmallows in the UK. Using premium ingredients – only whole fresh fruits, organic herbs, fairtrade sugar and boutique alcohol – The Marshmallowist combines classic confectionery with unexpected flavours.
They never use fruit powders, extracts or ‘natural' flavourings to achieve their marshmallows’ bold flavours or bright colours. All their mallows are egg free, dairy free and gluten free.
Having trained as a chocolatier in Paris but starting her business on a portobello road market stall, Oonagh Simms creates decadent Marshmallows with a French soufflé-like texture and a signature London edge. The Marshmallowist mallows are stocked by leading luxury retailers throughout the UK including Selfridges and Harvey Nichols and created bespoke flavours for private client partnerships such as Alexander McQueen and Mumm Champagne.
The Marshmallowist’s bold design and unique luxury packaging has received worldwide acclaim featuring in Vogue, Wallpaper magazine and The Times - and Oonagh's first book – ‘The Marshmallowist’ was published by Penguin Random House in July 2016.
